One and a half months and we will be getting together in Pigeon Forge. It will be a good time by all in attendance. On the first night we will be holding our “In Town Raffle”. These are the items that you will use over the next two days or longer if you wish. One of the items is a helicopter ride for two. Another is a free night at the hotel with extra fixins.

Mike Tuttle and his beautiful daughter Jennifer will be coming to this reunion. Most you met Jennifer last year when she attended the reunion with her Aunts, Tina Tuttle Jelich Frost and Maggie Corcoran along with John Jelich’s daughter Dickie and her husband Cort and son Vaughan, John’s son, John “Jake” Jelich II and his beautiful wife Beth. Mike was a Scout Pilot in 1968 and 69. Carol and I had the pleasure of taking them out to dinner at our favorite German restaurant and then to our house. It was great to see Mike after 50 years.

Carol had called a baker about baking our Charlie Troop sheet cake. He said he was sorry but he didn’t do sheets cakes. Then he said, “When are you holding your reunion?” Carol told him and he said, “I would like to bring in fresh baked pastries for your Hospitality room”. He then told her to call him when she knew for sure how many were going to be there because he wanted to make sure he baked enough. He is doing this as his donation to our Reunion.

Alan Magnum is a Vietnam Veteran who served in the 101st from 68-70 when he was medivaced from Nam. He and a group of Veterans are going to stop by and meet all of us. He said he will do anything he can to help us out. He has already done so in many ways.

The Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg communities has been so generous. The donations we have received are awesome.

I am sending out this special request for prayers for Our Brother Billie Williams. Billie was recently diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Billie said he told his doctor that he was going to fight this as hard as he can. I told him that he had no choice after all he is a CAV man. If you would like Billie’s address so you can send him a card or two just send me an email.

****If you need to cancel your appearance at this year’s reunion, please do so as soon as possible. Final counts for meals and show tickets are rapidly approaching and once they are done we will not be able to refund those monies. I hope no one takes me up on this.

This is a short News Letter.

God bless all of my Cavalry Brothers and Sisters (this includes Gold Star Family Members, Honorary Cavalry Troopers, Little Sweethearts and Little Brothers), it is only through his strength that Carol and I drive forward on these reunions. We love all of you.
