Five and a half months until our next reunion. Yes, the Corona virus is still running rampant. It is not expected to last forever. Our 2020 reunion is still scheduled for September 26, 27, and 28th. We will not make a decision on whether or not to cancel it until the 1st of August. The Double Tree Inn has told us that they will not charge Charlie Troop any penalty for canceling because we are a Military Unit. I guarantee you that we will make a decision about canceling the reunion 1 Month prior to the reunion and most likely 1 ½ months prior. I am asking you that if you are planning on making the reunion to please reserved your rooms and send in your check. You can predate your checks to July 15th. Checks will not be cashed until a decision has been made on whether or not to cancel the reunion. Even if we cash it, we will get you your money back if you have to cancel and you do so prior to us paying for the meals . If we have to cancel, we will either shred your check, return it to you or hold and place it towards next years reunion .
Carol and I will make a trip to Columbus as soon as possible to hammer out all of the costs. Carol and I are hard at work trying to get everything set in place. We have scheduled buses to take us to the National Infantry Museum on Sunday the 27th. This where we will conduct our “Fallen Brothers” ceremony.
I have asked several Troopers/Troopettes if they have a picture of their wedding day. I can not tell you why we want these but they are for a good reason. So if you have one, would you be kind enough to scan it and send me one.
Once again we have lost another Brother. Cleveland “Julio” Rogers passed away on March 25th. Julio was an Armament Specialist in 1969-70. Julio and his lovely wife, Gloria, attended a few of our reunions before Gloria became ill. We lost Gloria in 2017.
As far as I know, we do not have any Charlie Trooper+ who is Corona Virus positive. Let’s keep it that way.
I am asking each and every one of you to please reach out and call one of your brothers, Send me a private email and I will give you a phone number. PTSD can really kick in at times like these.
God Bless each and every one of you.

Hi Pat, Thank you for the continued updates on Charlie troop. I am writing on behalf of my father Mike Kelley, 65-66 weapons-scouts. We would like to inform you that we lost my mom Ruth Kelley December 4, 2018. She attended several reunion’s with my father over the years. They were married 48 years at the time of her passing. I was at the Fort Hood reunion in 99 honoring Spec 5 George Gavaria Kia 1-12-66. I was with his mom Lillian as she accepted a dozen yellow roses and George’s air medal for valor. It was an honor to be there with my dad and his fellow brothers. My prayers are with you and all those who served. Wishing you well. I am able to get a wedding pic to you although not sure dad can make reunion. Let me know. Thanks again, Genifa Kelley Proud Vietnam Veteran daughter

Genifa,
I am sorry that we did not know of your mom’s passing. We would sent a beautiful Spray in her honor. I am taking from the fact that you are writing that your Dad may be facing some medical problems. As you know, your Dad is held in High Esteem in Charlie Troop. Yes, I would like a picture of your Dad’s and Mom’s wedding. You can send via email at pcbnamin@verison.net or if you are on facebook you can send it to me there.
Please tell your Dad hi for me.
Love and Respect,
Pat
