******Our reunion dates for this year have changed. Our reunion will begin on Friday August 19th ansond end the morning of August the 22nd. We did this because so many people wanted to take the Branson Belle dinner cruise. This will be a lunch cruise that will begin at 12pm. The other option would be a dinner cruise starting at 8pm. The cruise will take place on Saturday the 20th. The cruise is only available on Saturdays,.
As you all know, I turned 75 last month. Our reunion in August will be the 10th Reunion that Carol and I have coordinated. We have met and became friends with so many wonderful people by doing the reunions. We cherish these people and the memories. Carol and I have tried to choose locations that will allow for a good reunion as well as a place where family or friends can get together and enjoy themselves.
Nowadays, our selections are based more for family and/or friend’s outings during the day, giving all a chance to build memories. Of course, we will always hold a ceremony to “Honor Our Fallen Brothers” and we may throw in a special ceremony from time to time. We will always try to add some special entertainment. Our Hospitality room will be open daily.
The nearest airports are located in Branson and Springfield, Missouri. The Branson airport is a small one and airlines are limited. Springfield is only a short drive from Branson. If you are planning to fly into either airport, REMEMBER that rental cars are limited so once you make your flight reservation, call and reserve a car. If you will notify me of your flight schedule (which airport and times), I can post to see if others are landing at same time and may want to car pool with you.
Our selection of locations is dwindling. Hotel cost keep rising. The cost of food is about to rise. Fuel is going up.
We are working hard to make sure this reunion will be a great one. It looks like we may have the most Gold Star families ever attending. This by itself will make this reunion memorable to me.
Remember that once Carol pays for the Showboat that cost is NOT REFUNDABLE. Also, once she pays for the meals that cost is also NOT REFUNDABLE.
You may cancel your reservation 72 hours in advance however, they will work with you in case of an emergency,
***All rooms must be reserved by June 10th. Any room after that will be on an “availability” only basis. If you book a room using any kind of points system, please let me know. This way I can call the Hotel and they will still give Charlie Troop credit.
Our Trooper Scotty Viningre is getting stronger every day. He is at home although he is still bed ridden. He loves his cards.
God bless, stay safe
