Jerry Harper was my best friend in high school. We joined the army together and remained good friends until his death. When he was killed in action, I was in country serving with C Troop 3/5 Cavalry Ninth Infantry Division as a tank gunner near the DMZ. I didn’t know he had been killed until after his funeral. Jerry was a fine person and a lot of fun to be around; we had a lot of good times during our high school years. I still miss him even after all these years.
