Barry was assigned to Charlie Troop on June 17, 1968 and was Killed in Action on December 29, 1968. Barry was the pilot of a Light Observation Helicopter. On board with Barry was Victor Austin and Ronald Roberts. I knew Barry and he was a great guy. He treated everyone with respect. He never looked down on anyone. He always had a smile on his face. He was a man we Blues knew we could count on. Barry was awarded the Purple Heart, the Air Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and a set of Army Aviator Wings. He also earned my respect and the respect of all who knew him.
