I David Johnson was a cousin by marriage. Jack and I were best friends and grew up together, I loved him and idolized him and was heart broken when he died

I loved him too and after he was shot I was the pilot that flew him to Dong Ha to the hospital to attempt to save him. We did not make it in time and I remember and think of that day so very often.

Kathleen, Your husband,David, is an American Hero the same as Jack. The men (from Charlie Troop) who served with Jack felt the same way about him. We, Charlie Troop, will never let his memory die as long as one of us lives. You wouldn’t happen to know if any of his family members are still wit us, would you?
