My brother Paul went to school with Jerry Boyd. His father owned a restaurant in North Windham Connecticut called Boyd’s Diner. That was a long time ago. After six years in the regular army and 18 1/2 years in a national guard. I tried to get the State of Connecticut to recognize Jerry Boyd As a local hero and to have a new bridge near his house named after him. It was then I realized how rotten politics were in the state of Connecticut. And the story goes on and he was not recognized. In other states they name Bridgers and other things like streets named after local figures, soldiers and other outstanding citizens.
