Terry was my roommate in flight school. Spent a night at his parents house on our way to Vietnam. We were both assigned to the Red Platoon, but I defected to Scouts in early August (just loved those OH-13’s). His personality was very easy going and never very military. Went on body escort to Ft.Wayne and was back to Charlie troop after a brief leave. I still greive; It was a preventable casualty. His helmet came off on impact from an engine failure on takeoff. The armored seat was too hard for the back of his head.
