Billy was assigned to Charlie Troop on August 17, 1965 and was Killed in Action on November 16, 1965 on LZ XRAY. Billy was a Pilot of a UH-1B helicopter. Billy was awarded the Purple Heart, Air Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and a set of Army Aviator Wings.

Your grandfather was an instrumental part of the greatest unit to serve in Vietnam. I do wish I had a couple of pictures of him.
