Phil and Brenda Merritt’s granddaughter, Emma Kate, is into Diamond Art and made a beautiful Peacock for Brenda.
Charlie Troop’s Little Brother, Zachary, just received his 2nd grade picture.
Diane Walton (GSFM) sent me this picture that was taken the night that her granddaughter was inducted into the National Honor Society. Congratulations Kalyssa Jade King.
Granma has put on her “I am so proud Hat” and say all of her grandchildren have now accomplished this great educational feat
Many a Mother, wife, son, or daughter goes to bed on Christmas Eve thinking of their son, husband, or father who is in Fiddlers Green and can no longer give them a kiss goodnight. They may even wonder what their loved one is doing this night. Here is my answer:
Twas the night before Christmas up in Fiddler’s Green
Things were quiet and there were No Cavalry Troopers to be seen
I asked the Lord “Where were all the Troopers” and he said to me
“A special request had been made and to this I agreed”
“A Trooper came up and on bended knees he said,
”You know Lord, we have not been with our families since coming to Fiddler’s Green”
“We would like just one more night to hold them near
And whisper something special in their ear.”
“God gathered all of them around and this is what he said”
“I grant you this evening to go to them while they are laying in bed.”
“Whisper in their ear and kiss their cheek”
“Give them what they long for and what it is you seek”
With this, each the Trooper mounted his steed
And flew through the night with Blessed speed
So loved ones when you wake up in the morning feeling warm and renewed
It’s because your Trooper came down, kissed your cheek, and said I LOVE YOU.

I had asked how many would be interested in have a 50’s night during the next reunion. I only received 2 replies, and both said they didn’t dance. So, we will not be doing the 50’s night.

Hi Pat, Thanks for the news letter. I just want to let you know that my wife Ruth got married on September 19, 1970 and not December 10 as shown in the news letter. Also, I lost Ruth to cancer on December 4th, 2018. I thought the 50s theme was a good idea however, most of us are elderly now with health issues and cannot dance to those good old rock and roll songs of yesterday. Especially Chubby Checkers “The Twist”. We still love that music but the only thing that can move now is our fingers to tap the beat of the music. It sucks getting old. Keep up the good work. MERRY CHRISTMAS. Mike Kelley C-1-9 65-66
